Korean and Japanese Drama Reviews

Its been nearly a week since I last post about anything in this blog. Again, I really have nothing much to say as nothing good has been happening lately. So, without further ado, lets begin my review of the Korean and Japanese dramas that I've watched lately. Yup, seriously, I got really bored lately so been watching nothing but these downloaded K- and J-Dramas.

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop
This drama is about a girl named Eun Bi, who dreams of working as a teacher. However, her fate began to entangled with the appearance of Cha Chi Soo, a spoiled high-school boy who always get into arguments and fights with Eun Bi. I find their fights really hilarious as Cha Chi Soo always does things very exaggerated to be true. What I find really funny was how Cha Chi Soo keeps denying that he has feelings for Eun Bi but he keeps telling Eun Bi to not disappear from his sight. What I really don't like about the drama was that it takes really long for the drama to make sense. At first, I thought whats the Ramyun Shop have to do with the drama. So I'm giving this drama a 7-half/10.

Shut Up, Flower Boy Band
A high-school story about a school band of six, known as the Eye Candy. A story of romance, friendship and family. It happens when the group's school were being closed down so they were transferred to a more prestigious Jungsang High School. Thats where they met up with their rival school band called Strawberry Fields. What made them become more rivals are due to the Eye Candy's leader, Byung Hee, who had fallen in love with the Strawberry Field's leader, Seung Hoon's "girlfriend", dubbed the "Muse". The story became more entangled as the drama progresses on. So, for this drama, I'm giving this 6-half/10 because I don't really like how the story ends.

Prosecutor Princess
A story about spoiled woman, named Hye Ri, who has an obsession for shopping and just having fun. After graduating from Law School, she began to work as a prosecutor. As a prosecutor, she did not care much about being a perfect prosecutor and do not believe in hard-work and teamwork. Comes in In Woo, a mysterious lawyer, who tries to begin getting close to her. When he first came in the scene, I began to wonder what is his role in the drama. Does he really have a crush on Hye Ri or does he have another agenda that involves Hye Ri? Nonetheless, I very much enjoy this drama. I guess its because it has everything to do with mystery-like storyline such as CSI and Castle (American Series). For this drama, I'm giving it a 7-half/10. Seriously, I love how it ends even if its frustrating yet somehow its really sweet. Also, I began to have a crush on In Woo, whose real name is Park Shi Hoo. <3

Arang and the Magistrate
I first watched this because of the main actress, Shin Min Ah as I have already watched her in her other drama "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho". So when I first watched this drama, I find it very funny and cute, especially the magistrate, Eun Oh. It all revolves on Arang's wishes to find out the cause of her death. It all started with Arang, who thought to seek help with the magistrate to help her. Unfortunately, every time there's a new magistrate, they die in shock after meeting Arang, which to me, is quite funny if you see how it really happened. So then one day, she met the new magistrate, Eun Oh, who has the ability to communicate with the ghosts. With his help, they began their quest to find the truth. I love how the magistrate, at first, tried not to help, pretending not to see Arang. As the episodes goes on, I became more frustrated and really can't wait for it to end as I feel it is so slow. Haha. How unfortunate that I don't really like how it ends. So I'm giving this drama a 7/10.

Paradise Kiss
I watched this Japanese movie because I remember reading its manga. Unfortunately, its not really the same. Most of the scene parts are being left out from the movie which is unfortunate. The plot is about a high-school girl named Yukari Hayasaka who got tired of studying and trying to please her mother. As she was walking down the street, she was suddenly kidnapped by a guy. It turns out that the guy is named Arashi Nagase. Apparently, he and his other friends; Isabella, George and Miwako Sakurada kidnapped her because they wanted her to be their model for their final year project. At first, she did not want to be involved in their project but as time passes, she began to admire their eccentric ways and agreed to be their model. Unfortunately, I find it weird and confusing. I mean, how did George and Yukari Hayaska began to fall in love with each other. So overall, I'm giving this movie a 6-half/10. Its so short and not much details to the movie.

The Moon that Embraces the Sun
After watching Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, I began to search more on the cast and look through Jung Il Woo's other dramas. That is where I found this drama. Lately, I've been watching historic and periodic dramas but surprisingly, it's very interesting and fun. And as for this drama, I find it the drama that has the most romantic and sweetest story-line I've ever watched. It began a romantic story of how a thirteen year-old girl falls in love with a fifteen-year-old boy, who turns out to be the Crown Prince. However, due to the jealousy of some people, the girl was cursed and was thought to be dead. Eight years later, her fate and the Crown Prince's fate began to intertwined, though the girl was believed to be a Shaman and actually lost her memory. Overall, the drama was one of the best one that I've ever watched. So I'm giving this an 8-half/10.

The Thousandth Man
Quite a short drama about a Gumiho who has to find her thousandth man to fall in love with her and is willing to give his liver to her. If she doesn't achieve this, she will disappear by the next Full Moon. But if she did achieve this, she can fully become a human being. So this story is about a Gumiho's journey to find her true love, especially when she get entangled with an owner of a restaurant. As for me, throughout from the beginning of the drama, it was really fun and interesting. However, I'm quite disappointed with the ending, even if it does make sense. So am giving this 7/10.

The Manny
I thought to watched a different type of drama and then I found this, Manny. Its about a male nanny who came to Korea from America, promoting his book. It was then something unlucky had happened to him that caused him to work for Seo Do Young. It was then he began to work as a Manny, looking after Do Young's two children. At first, the drama was okay. But I began to dislike Do Young as I find her quite annoying and selfish. Though, I think her character wasn't meant to be like that but seriously, every time she began her weepy look, I feel like throttling her. LOL. Anyway, not really liking this so giving this 5/10.

Time Slip, Dr. Jin.
When I first watched the drama, I didn't realise that Kim Jaejoong was in it. Also, Park Min Young from Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Its about a doctor from the Future who was sent to the past. From there, he began his journey of nursing people to health and was involved in politics even though, he does not want to. But I find it weird that it took long for the story-line to come to light. But then again, throughout the episodes, the story-line was getting confusing and there's a lot of blood that made me cringe. Overall, the drama is only 7/10.

So yeah, thats about it. I know ! I watched too much drama but really can't help it. At least I won't get bored. LOL. Anyway, until next time then :)

p/s:
Currently, I'm watching Nine-Tailed Fox and am waiting to watch Cheongdamdong Alice. Will wait until the full episodes are done with the subs.

After Exams Effect

Its only been a few days since I just finished my exams and again, I really have to protest how bored I am now. I'm beginning to regret that I have watched all those 18 dramas and not wait. Yes, 18. Seems exaggerated but true. Even I don't realize how many dramas I have already watched. I did find one drama that seems interesting. Its called the Queen something. A Korean drama about time-travel and stuffs. Unfortunately, I got spoiled by the some author in a blog that says that it has this sad ending, ending up with them only having as memories. I don't really like that kind of ending or I'll get sad. LOL. Anyway, will upload some of the dramas that I have been watching already and am going to give the ratings and yeah, I might spoil the ending too. LOL.

Panda and Hedgehog
Well, to be honest, I first searched through for this drama because of Donghae from Super Junior. LOL. Could say he's like my fourth crush (Yoochun went up one spot!). Anyway, this drama is about a battle of bakery and patisserie. Well, at first, it seems boring but then first episode was always like that. Really thought the movie would improved episode by episode. Unfortunately, it didn't. It became more complicated and twisted. I find the writers of this drama was trying so hard to make this drama a success but it only made it worse. I mean, at first, it talked about Donghae's character trying to get his revenge on Saint Honore, the largest bakery in town for rejecting him. Then it goes to him and Panda going into a love-triangle with the President of the Saint Honore. Next, it goes to trying to find out the past of Donghae and etc. So it was very confusing. So am giving this a rating of 6-half/10.

My Princess
A cute and funny drama about a college student that just found out that she's a princess and with the help of a princess instructor, she's been taking lessons on the etiquette and etc. Of course, like every drama, there's a twist where there would be people not liking her to be a princess. As episodes goes, it became very frustrating that I always find myself cringing with "come on!!". LOL. What I really don't like was the bad character because I don't really like the look of her. Haha. Overall, its like any typical princess story where the princess falls in love with the instructor. And for me, the main male character is really cute and sweet. Am giving this a rating of 7/10.

Nice Guy
Yes, I usually watched drama mostly because of the actors/actresses, which in this case, was because of Joong Ki. What I didn't expect that this drama to be very sinister and yet, very interesting. I'm not sure if you can call this a love story but there is some love-square in the drama between Joong Ki, the CEO's daughter, CEO's wife/mistress and CEO's lawyer. This drama is basically about Joong Ki's character trying to get his revenge on his ex-girlfriend by being close to the ex's step-daughter. After being framed for murder, Joong Ki tried his best to get close to the step-daughter, use her to bring down his ex, using his intelligence. For me, this drama is very much about people going crazy for money and power, which can be very destructive. Of course, appearance of Gwang Soo was much anticipated too. I'm giving this a rating of 8/10.

Lie to Me
I was recommended by my friends to watch this drama. They keep saying that this drama was really great. Its about a civil servant who lied about being married to a very influential hotel-owner, because she wanted to show-off to her friend that she's marrying a much richer and better man than her friend. Unfortunately, the lie gotten much worse as everyone began to think that it is real. Even much worse, when the hotel-owner's ex-fiance came into the scene, wanting him back. Funnily enough, the hotel-owner plays along with the lie and things became to be more complicated. Overall, giving this a rating of 7/10.

The Man From Nowhere
One short word to describe this movie is "Brutal". Seriously, this movie should be described as it is and should be watched by people above 18 years old. Not for the kids. It is about a man who owns a seedy pawnshop. He befriends with a young girl, who always come and visit him because her mother is a drug addict and who has no time for little children. One time, her mother stole a drug from a notorious mafia and both mother and daughter were kidnapped. Unfortunately, Won Bin's character got involved because before both mother and daughter were captured, the mother hides the drug inside a bag at Won Bin's pawnshop. When Won Bin's character found out the girl got kidnapped and the mother was killed, he went on a mission to find the girl, escaping from the police as well. Am giving this movie a rating of 8/10.

Catching Up with Korean and Japanese Dramas

Lately, I have been watching Korean and Japanese dramas, nearly every night when I'm suppose to be studying for my final exams. But seriously, I guess I do need a little time-off from all the studying and assignments. Anyway, these are some of the dramas that I have been watching:

Sungkyunkwan Scandal
Well, for me, this drama was full of Politics between the Norons and Sorons. Yet, the drama was really fascinating. Really love the storyline. Sweet and very touching ! Really funny in some situations and also from what I see, all of them has super nice smile. LOL. Also, I'm watching this is due to Joong Ki being in the film. Yet, I'd give this an 8-half/10.

Goong/Princess Hours
An old drama yet watched it again because it's quite fun. Also, ever since I watched Running Man, thought I'd want to see JiHyo's past acts. Unfortunately, back then, her acting wasn't really that good. Eun Hye plays it better. I'd give this 7/10 as I don't really like the ending.

You're Beautiful
When I first watched this drama, I fell in love with Jung Yong Hwa. I guess its his character that seems so quiet yet so sweet. Back then, I didn't know that he was a singer in some band. Well, not surprising since he seems so talented. Anyway, the storyline was pretty good. The ending was not bad either but something seems missing. Gave this a 8/10.

For You in Full Blossom/Hana Kimi
Apparently, this is a Japanese version of the To the Beautiful You, which I found really funny. Well, I should expect Japanese dramas to be this funny as they are overly exaggerated. Luckily, this drama didn't disappoint me much. Also, I didn't expect the ending to end just like that but it is still okay. I'd give this 7/10.

Hungry
This is a Japanese drama which I find the title to be a little funny. But then again, it is about food so it is expect-able. One thing I like about this dramas are the gorgeous display of cuisines appearing in the show. A 11-episodes drama which I find typical of the story-line. A bit disappointed about the ending so giving it a 6/10.

To the Beautiful You
The Korean version of the Hana Kimi. Love the story-line of how it matches along the way. Great cast of SHInee's Minho and f(x)'s Sulli. Apparently, this is Minho's first drama, which is no wonder since he seems really awkward in the drama. But luckily, his smile helps rid of the awkwardness. Love the way he exercise too. Hehe. A 8-half/10 for this.

Coffee Prince
A gender-based romance and comedy drama which features Eun Hye. Great actress and seriously, she is so great in that drama. One thing I don't like about this drama is the manager who always like to do disgusting things, making me cringe. Episode after episode, there's always seem to be a problem which I found very entertaining. Story-line was okay so am giving it a 7/10.

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho
At first, I began to search for this movie because I found out Hyomin of T-Ara was starring in this drama. So was trying to find out whether her acting was good, though, it was then I found out that she wasn't the main actress. But then, I began to like the drama. Love how it turns out that made me shed a few tears. The ending was a bit sad but unexpected. Luckily, it had the happy ending and gave it an 7-half/10.

Heartstrings
I only watched this because I found out that Jung Yong Hwa was starring in this drama. And this time, he was the main actor. Felt sorry for him because he lose the girl to the main guy in You're Beautiful. I remember I keep saying "Be with me instead !!". Anyway, the drama was okay. Didn't expect that Korea had that kind of university that specializes in Arts and Musics. Story-line was a bit frustrating because of Yong Hwa's crush on an older woman. Some sad and some funny scenes. So giving this a 7/10.

Friends 2002
Oh my Won Bin ! Great casts. The Japanese actress was also awesome. She really suits with MY Won Bin. Story-line was really sweet and great. And of course, I'm being biased so I'm saying its 10/10 because of my Won Bin !

Ouran High School Host
I remember reading this in a manga (a Japanese comic) so I didn't expected that it has a drama being made to it. As expected from Japanese dramas, this one has to be really over-exaggerated yet I love how they made it really funny. One thing that I didn't like about this drama was that it was too short of a drama. I wished they made more episodes of this. Giving this a 8/10.

Final Fantasy

At the moment, I got hooked up on Final Fantasy again ! Its a small consolation where I started playing Final Fantasy 10.

This is due to the fact that I wasn't able to afford a PS3 that I started playing this back again. To tell the truth, I much prefer this version than the FF10-2. I guess I like the summoning of Aeons, which to me, has always been so cool !

As for Final Fantasy 13, I heard that it is quite hard. Maybe the gaming style is quite different, who knows. Depends on each individual's capabilities in playing a game. Hehe. Though, I heard the summoning technique is quite different from other Final Fantasy. But then, I thought, maybe Square Enix would like to have each Final Fantasy with its unique summoning style. Well, Thats what I think.

Churros Recipe

I miss eating this Mexican Doughnuts. The last time I ate one of these are when I was in the Philippines, which was years ago! So I'm going to share the recipe of it here. Who knows there's someone out there who is kind enough to make me one of them =D

Ingredients: (Makes one platefull)
Vegetable or Olive Oil
1 cup water
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Prepare to fry the churros by heating oil in a pan (1 to 1&1/2 inches) to 360 degrees F.

To make churro dough, heat water, margarine and salt to rolling boil in 3-quart saucepan; stir in flour. Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball, about 1 minute; remove from heat. Beat eggs all at once; continue beating until smooth and then add to saucepan while stirring mixture.

Spoon mixture into cake decorators' tube with large star tip (like the kind use to decorate cakes). Squeeze 4-inch strips of dough into hot oil. Fry 3 or 4 strips at a time until golden brown, turning once, about 2 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. (Mix Sugar and the optional cinnamon); roll churros in sugar or dump the sugar on the pile of churros, like the pros. That churro taste will take you right back to your favorite summer days walking the paseos of Spain.

Note: REAL churros in Spain are made without cinnamon mixed with the sugar, but the cinnamon adds an extra nice flavor.

Chocolate for Churro Dunking

4oz dark chocolate, chopped
2 cups milk
1 tbsp cornstarch (also known as cornflour and is the powder that causes the thickening)
4 tbsp sugar

Place the chocolate and half the milk in a pan and heat, stirring, until the chocolate has melted. Dissolve the cornstarch in the remaining milk and whisk into the chocolate with the sugar. Cook on low heat, whisking constantly, until the chocolate is thickened, about five minutes. Add extra cornstarch if it doesn't start to thicken after 5 minutes. Remove and whisk smooth. Pour and server in cups or bowls for dunking churros. Do not pour over churros, but use the mix for dunking churros after every bite. Served warm.

Fearless by Taylor Swift

There's something about the way the street looks when it's just rained,
There's a glow on the pavement, you walk me to the car,
And you know I wanna ask you to dance right there,
In the middle of the parking lot, yeah.

We're driving down the road, I wonder if you know,
I'm trying so hard not to caught up now,
But you're just so cool, running your hand through your hair,
Absent-mindedly making me want you.

And I don't know how it gets better than this,
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless.
And I don't know why but with you, I dance,
In a storm, in my best dress, fearless.

So baby, drive slow 'til we run out of road,
In this one horse town, I wanna stay right here.
In this passenger seat, you put your eyes on me,
In this moment now, capture it, remember it.

And I don't know how it gets better than this,
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless.
And I don't know why but with you, I dance,
In a storm, in my best dress, fearless.

Well, you stood there with me in the doorway,
My hands shake, I'm not usually this way.
You pull me in and I'm a little more brave,
It's the first kiss, it's flawless, really something,
It's fearless.

And I don't know how it gets better than this,
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless.
And I don't know why but with you, I dance,
In a storm, in my best dress, fearless.

And I don't know how it gets better than this,
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless.
And I don't know why but with you, I dance,
In a storm, in my best dress, fearless.

Life can be sux.

Hahahaha! I'm back!!! Wow! It's been like what? Months? Weeks? Since I last posted here. I didn't even post a single thing for the month of April. I guess it shows how busy I was and how LAZY I was too. Hahaha. But seriously, I was super busy, especially in April. Even if I had a holiday in April but I was still busy with my assignment and so on. Kinda tired during that time. I even had to stay back at school until the night, just to finish up my work XD

But not only was I was so damn tired but I've been pretty upset and sad too 'cause of the many bad things that had happened to me. Thus, the topic was titled "Life can be sux.". So I'm just going to point out all those bad... seriously BAD things that had happened to me.

1.
Just recently, I had received a speeding ticket because I drove a 120km/hr at Rimba Highway at around 3:20pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I was on a rush to fetch my brother from Micronet and I already told that damm b*tch that I was late. And what did she do? "Mari berkenalan" WTH?? "Tinggal di Tutong kita?" "Eh, napa laju-laju ani?" "Kita drive laju tadi tu ah?" "Dari mana biskita?" Then after that, she wrote the police report, MY GOD! Was she so slow!!! I'd bet my little cousins can write even more faster than her. The B*TCH!

2.
Well, last month, the day of my aunt Bunani's birthday, our house was broke-in and 2 cameras and my Nyawa ke-3 were stolen. Actually, I didn't found out one of the cameras was stolen until Kak Mia asked for it during the time at the airport. So my dad doesn't know that the camera was missing *sigh* It was funny. I left it in the living room and went to bed at around 2am+. The next morning, I woke up for school, I thought it was some kind of a sick joke. I saw my laptop missing, along with the charger. What's left was the battery, the cooler and my hard-disk. At first, I thought Kak Mia was playing a joke at me, hiding it somewhere. But she seriously don't know. No one can imagine how devastated I was when I realize that my laptop was stolen. I just couldn't believe it. I just wished it was all a bad dream. I was so sick too that time. Day after that incident, most people thought I was okay, judging by the look on my face. But truthfully, I'm just holding it up, putting on a brave smile when I'm actually sad inside.

Because of this incident, it made me feel more insecure, especially when I'm alone at night in the living room. Never knew there could be someone watching you from outside, seeing what you're doing at night. Kind of creeps me out.

3.
Well, I have this one friend whom I loved, as a friend. *duh* Unfortunately, we gotten into so many fights. I just don't know how to fix it. The friend just got back and was so stressed. I'm not sure what happened. It's either me being too sensitive or paranoid or the friend being too hurtful and being like a jerk. I didn't tell this to Izwan 'cause it's just between me and the friend. And I won't tell it to him now. Anyway, for me, the friend had changed. From a loveable person to being a jerk. Said its all due to me. I think the friend didn't realize how hurtful of what being said to me. I tried to be understanding but all I get was hurtful sarcasm. Sometimes I wished I hadn't known the friend and I wished I could erase the friend from my memory. But I just can't. I just hope the friend read this and see how much the friend had hurt me. Although, I think all the friend would reply is that I'm being too sensitive. I just wished the "old" friend was back....

Movies that I've watched and waiting for

Its been a long time since I've watched any movies at the cinema. Been pretty busy with assignments and tests, that it has been pretty hectic. But just now, went out with Izwan, just after my ISM test and we've watched a movie together at the Mall. At first, we've been thinking of what movie to watch; the Punisher or Street Fighter : The Legend of Chun-Li.

Finally, we choose to watch Street Fighter : The Legend of Chun-Li. For me, the movie was okay. I give it a rate of 6/10. Not sure why but the fighting scene and some parts are just okay. Not the "wow" thing to be awe of. And there's one of the characters that is just basically useless there. I think she's just for the show, to show off her boobs and lots of skins. But seriously, I wonder why she was in there in the first place. She can't even catch a bad guy and once she's into the action, she got herself shot at the arm. Stupid. Anyway, the main character, who is Chun-Li, was played by an actress named Kirsten Kruek. Yes, she's the girl in SmallVille. Though, she looks skinner here. And really different. Haha. Too bad there aren't any hot guys in the movie.

Then there's some movies waiting to be watch. Hehe. Can't wait. Though, one of the movie is kind of a bit off. My boyfriend doesn't agree with the actors using in the movie. And it's kind of true of what he's just said.

DragonBall Evolution

Read for more information in here.

Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen

Read for more information in here and watch the trailer here.

Origin of X-Men: Wolverine

and for more information, check here and the official trailer here.

And I so wanted to watch this!!! It looks kind of exciting and fun!! Hehehe. Yeah, I know. A typical chick-flick but who cares?? I wanna watch it!!!

For more information, click here and check the trailer here.

Oh yeah, before Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, I've also watched the Pink Panther 2. For me, the movie was 5/10. Not really that "Ha-ha" movie 'cause for me, it has too much silly romance and embarressing scene, yet less laugh.

For more information, check the official website.
